Olmo Calvo is Cantabrian by birth although he has, as he says, “his base in Madrid”. Perhaps his roots were what prompted him to expose in Castro Urdiales what a rescue operation in the Mediterranean is like, or perhaps it was his desire to bring the situation that so many people in the world are suffering closer to his homeland. But thanks to him, 'Mediterranean: a great mass grave', has its own place in the breakwater of the city, and in the Cantabrian Sea.

A local lounge bar has faced backlash after installing wooden boards that prevented homeless people from taking shelter at the front of the property.

The boards were installed outside the Olmo Lounge, in Huntingdon town centre, and appearing overnight on Tuesday February 23, barring entry to the sheltered outside seating area.
